BAMILEKE DOORS ARCHIVES, Cameroon

Cameroon Door 1 has been vetted as authentic. It shows a European influence in its construction, but has a wonderful carved design.

BAMILEKE, DOORS, Cameroon

The Bamileke are better known for their masks, stools and beadwork. The two small Bamileke doors with doorframes shown above are typical and are mounted in the wall about two feet off the ground. The door lifts out; it's like the upper half of a "French" door.
