MBOLE, Anklet Currency, DRC
Traditionally, these heavy copper "anklet" forms were recognized and used as currency for rare but major transactions. They have become so popular as decorative objects, especially when displayed alongside contemporary art, that they are now being created especially for the art market.
We believe that most of ours fall into this category..
They can be exhibited on their own or on stands that allow them to be rotated to any angle. The black metal stands cost $50.
