There is a thin, stable crack around the base of the neck, two small holes on the left side and one in the center of the bottom (for firing). The surface is uneven, with some loss of texture. This piece has not been tested by thermoluminescence due to the substantial fee involved. With a round bottom, it sits well on a pvc ring, which is included.
Little is known of the Djenne civilization (ca. 11th - 17th centuries), precursors to the Dogon in Mali.
