This mask has been vetted as being authentic with signs of use and age (early 20th C.)
These three fiber masks, called Peul masks, have been vetted as authentic but with little sign of age or use.
In spite of their appearance, we believe the masks below were carved for the collecting market.

DOGON, MASKS, Mali
The Dogon carve over eighty kinds of mask some of which, especially the Satimbe, Katanga and Sirige, are considered to have potent magical powers. Others, representing hunters or animals, are used in dances of a more celebratory or social nature.
