This piece has been vetted as authentic, showing signs of significant use and age.
Staffs made of iron and brass were displayed in royal compounds to affirm kingly power. This unique piece also bears similarities to Yoruba Osanyin healing staffs. Two of the upturned forms on the top are broken off (see pictures 2 and three above), otherwise the staff is in very good condition.
