HAUSA
Man's Robe 15
94" wide x 50" high
$300
SOLD*

Created from strip-woven cotton cloth, these were joined, then embroidered in the traditional patterns such as "eight knives", and several other elements including the numerous eyelets called "a thousand ant holes". These garments would have been used for special occasions. They can be worn, the backs are decorated as well, or displayed by hanging.

This robe shows very intricate embroidered patterns and is in fair condition, with slight bleeding of the indigo into the white areas and some discoloration around the collar. There is a 3" long seam split on the top right edge.
