Despite its appearance this mask was probably made to be sold.
We have not found this type of mask in the literature so we believe it may be a contemporary creation. This mask combines the rectangular form and striated lines of the more common kifwebe masks with the buffalo horns of a rarer type (shown below in a Luba mask from the Tervuren Museum, Brussels.
