NUPE SMALL POSTS, Nigeria
Posts, 1 - 16 and 33 - 45, although placed in the ground, were ceremonial altar pieces, not structural. They have been vetted as being authentic, with signs of use and age.
Numbers 7 and 11 were originally joined with other pieces, probably for something similar to a bedframe.
Numbers 30, 31 and 32 are the tops of very tall thin posts that were the center post of the house, serving as a hub for the thatched roof. They did not support as much weight as the heavier large houseposts around the outside. They have been vetted as being authentic, with signs of use and age.
