TUAREG, WALLET 9, 11" w., $200, SOLD, Niger.

Tuareg amulets, worn around the neck or under their robes, range from simple leather rectangles to elaborate multi-piece groupings. We have been told that numbers 7, 8 and 9 were used as talismans but we in fact do not know whether they were functional or simply ornamental.
