Remarkably similar to Figure 37, this figure shows signs of having been made for tribal use although it is less clear that it was in fact ever used.
Shrine figures represent gods who provide protection, healing and good fortune in return for respect, sacrificial food and adherence to their rules. Their hands are extended to receive gifts, and open to indicate generosity and honesty.
