 LOBI
Hairpins 2
5 - 6.5"h. x 10"w.
$250
SOLD

The Lobi, better known for their wood figures, heads and stools and terracotta vessels, make some objects from iron. These small hairpins exhibit the technical skill and artistry that Lobi blacksmiths brought to their work. They would do the smelting to get the iron from iron ore, then heat and hammer out both the tools and weapons used and these and other objects. These were probably made to be sold. They are mounted individually and can be rearranged; the price is for the group of five.
