TABWA STYLE MPUNDU DOLL FIGURE 6, DRC

Despite its appearance this Tabwa doll figure shows no evidence of age or use and was probably made to be sold.

This doll is unusual. It has imbedded beads instead of carved scarification patterns, a metal ring without a clear purpose, and a horizontal transverse hole through the head that would have allowed it to be suspended or worn. The patina is beautiful.
