These three animal masks do not fit neatly into the other Bamana catagories of masks, Komo and Kono headdresses, puppets or Chi-wara headdresses.

Mask number 2 has been evaluated by a French dealer as being authentic with significant signs of use and age.

Despite their appearance and patina, the other two wonderful masks show no evidence of use and were probably made to be sold.
