SOKOTO, TERRACOTTA HEAD 1, 8.5", SOLD
Little is known of the Sokoto civilization (ca. 500 B.C. - 200 A.D.), first discovered in the1990's. Most of the objects dug up are terra cotta heads or figures. This head has surface repairs to hide many cracks visible on the inside surface.
