YORUBA STYLE BEADED CROWN 63, NIGERIA

Photographs © Tim Hamill

YORUBA
Crown 63
9.5" high x 11.5" wide
$400
SOLD

The unusual style of this crown is obviously derived from British royal crowns.  Despite the quality of workmanship and the interesting form, we believe that this crown was made to be sold.

The inside is lined with part of a tan Yoruba ashoke textile. There are small areas mostly around the wings and necks of the birds that are not beaded and two necks (dark areas) where some beads have been lost.
