YORUBA STYLE BEADED CROWN 75, NIGERIA
Photographs © Hamill Gallery
8.5" high x 10"-13" wide
The unusual style of this crown is obviously derived from British royal crowns. There are four sides, each with three birds. Despite the quality of workmanship and the elegant form, we believe that this crown was made to be sold. It is in good condition. The inside is lined with part of a tan and gray Yoruba ashoke textile.
Bird tails ( those on the sides) can be bent upwards or outwards if desired and hold those positions.
