Forms like this iron shaped "weapon" were recognized and used as currency for barter, transactions and storage of wealth. Also referred to as "executioner's swords", this type would have been displayed ceremoniously to indicate the power of the king.  We believe that, despite its appearance, this sword could have been made to be sold.
